A BORN AND BRED Wellingtonian, I’m known for my involvement in the hospitality industry over many years.
I have a Diploma in Community Work from my early years. More latterly I have attained a Degree in Theology with special interests in liturgy and comparative religion. Philosophy and the recognition of diverse cultural practices continues to be a pursuit of mine. I have had over 15 years experience in ministry, and as a celebrant.
While working in the Cook Islands, I was responsible for chairing the Economic Retreats during their process of reform. I retain an interest in South Pacific politics and administration.
My interests include brass bands and yachting, and I have been associated with both since the age of nine. I am chairman of Sailability Wellington Trust which provides opportunities for yachting for people with disabilities. I was a competing member of Toastmasters for some years.
I am married and living in Lower Hutt. My wife and I enjoy travel, the caravan and extended family as well tending the household garden.
I am employed as a celebrant of all life’s occasions, but specialise in weddings, namings and funerals.
I also work in administration for the Laura Fergusson Trust based in Lower Hutt.
